Name:Metallo-β-Lactamase
Description:

Description

        Metallo-β-Lactamase (MBL) is produced by genetic engineering technology. It is expressed in recombinant E.coli and highly purified to homogeneity. The enzyme can hydrolyze β-Lactam ring of lactam antibiotics, especially that in monocyclic β-lactams. The hydrolysis makes the antibiotics lose their anti-microbial activity. The product has specificity and can hydrolyze imipenem, meropenem, ertapenem and other antibiotics β-lactam ring. It also can hydrolyze penicillin sodium, cefixime, cefoperazone, cefotaxime, ceftriaxone, cefoxitin, etc. After radiation, the lyophilized powder is finally sterilized.

        White or pain white lyophilized powder.

        One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to hydrolyze one biological unit of penicillin G in one hour at pH 7.0, 37˚C.

Application

        Environmental monitoring of antibiotic manufacturing areas;
        Sterility testing of bulk Antibiotics;
        Testing sterility of blood cultures;
        Testing for β-lactam contamination of drugs.

Note

           0.1mM Mg2+and 0.1mM Zn2+play an important role in the enzyme activity;  Avoid violent oscillation, and prevent a large number of bubbles during resuspension.
